Tips on how to save gas!!

July 28th, 2008

Found some gas savings tips that will help your increase mpg.

  1. Avoid warming up engine for long period of time.  30-45 seconds is plenty of time.
  2. Don’t start and stop engine needlessly.  Idling your engine for one minute consumes the gas amount equivalent to when you start the engine.
  3. Avoid revving up the engine.
  4. Eliminate jack-rabbit starts.  Accelerate slowing
  5. Fuel up either in early morning or late evening when it is the coolest, gas is densest during this times.  Gas pumps measure volumes of gasoline, not densities of fuel concentration.
  6. Avoid overfilling the tank.  Overfilling results in sloshing over and out of the tank.
  7. Exceeding 40 mph forces your auto to overcome tremendous wind resistance, speed limit permitting.
  8. Traveling 55 mph gives you up to 21% better mileage when compared to legal speed limits of 65 mph and 70 mph.
  9. Traveling at fast rates in low gears can consume up to 45% more fuel than is required.
  10. Keep windows closed when traveling at highway speeds.  Open windows cause air drag, reducing your mileage by 10%.
  11. Drive steadily - slowing down or speeding up wastes fuel.  Try to stay consistent.
  12. Plan ahead when approaching hills.  Accelerate before you reach the hill, not while you’re on it.
  13. Avoid rough roads whenever possible, because dirt or gravel rob you of up to 30% of your gas mileage.
  14. Stoplights are usually timed for your motoring advantage.  By traveling steadily at the legal speed limit you boost your chances of having the “green light” all the way.

Treating my Benz E320

February 25th, 2008

Well , I didn’t believe it, but you were right, I can feel the powed in the seat of my pants.   Had an opportunity to go on a 700 mile trip last month, stopped by your shop and was pleased to death that you helped me with the treatment.  Ok, I am happy you did it for me.   But I can see as you said it is very easy to install.   And I do remember you asked me to tell anyone I talk to, to tell them you will do the same for them at no charge like you did me.

I was on the highway 5 minutes after I left your plant, put the car on cruise 73 MPH and sat there for the better part of 2-1/2 hours till I reached the casino.  Happy to say my wife won enough to pay for the treatment.  After a few hours we continued our trip north.  Traveled back three days later.   The sad story is, its my wifes car and I never asked her to track her MPG.  We averager 26.5 mpg going north.   After town and two days of shopping on the way back we averaged 24.5 mpg,  I am satisfied but have nothing to compare to.  I can tell you the car runs like a scared rabbit, which it was never this fast.  You can see and feel the differance.  As far as MPG go I now asked my wife to see if she see any differance.   After three weeks she has said she is deffinately going 40 to 50 miles further per tank full than before the treatment.   That is a big differance.  Again I just wanted to say thanks, the product works.

Small Engine Treatment Success 1974 Honda ST90

February 25th, 2008

After treating my son’s 1974 Honda ST90 (which is a 89cc four stroke engine) we saw a faster top end, and a quieter engine at idle.  Top end was about 38mph with my light weight son on it now it will top out at about 41mph.  Along with a quieter engine it also eliminated alot of engine vibration.

Bore Cleaner Requirements

January 21st, 2008

Was surfing the web and came across a good article about what you should look for when purchasing bore cleaner.  Thought I’d pass it along.

A good bore cleaner will:

  • Remove copper and powder residue from the bore and exterior of guns
  • Leave your gun absolutely dry after application
  • Reduce cleaning and maintenance time
  • Reduce cooper fouling by more than 50%
  • Increase muzzle velocity
  • Reduce or eliminate jamming
  • Extend number of rounds that can be fired between cleanings especially with black powder guns
  • Help maintain or even reduce group size
  • Help extend barrel life
  • Not leech into primers
  • Not freeze down to -50º Fahrenheit or -46º Celsius
