We own a pristine 2012 Lincoln MKX AWD vehicle.

Our Microlon Treatments

I wanted a complete Microlon treatment for our MKX. Not just the engine as doing the entire vehicle gives the ultimate gain in friction reduction and anti-wear longevity. They advised me how to treat the Engine, Transmission, PTU (for the AWD), Rear End Differential, Cooling System, A/C, Power Steering and the entire Fuel System. Engine treatment for the lower part of the engine and the Fuel System treatment for the top of the engine.

Their precise instructions must be followed to the Tee for the proper application of the Microlon treatments.  This is so important.  Without them I would have wasted my investment in the product line.  Purchase the products and speak to with them to assure you are installing the products properly.

After 1k miles with the above treatment completed I was advised the newest product to complete the Engine Treatment. BOOST. This product is added to the engine. Do not know what in in this Microlon product however our engine is amazing. Even better than the original Microlon Engine treatment.

Real World Results

Our Duratec V6 engine is wonderful. Predictable acceleration and fuel mileage 16.4 mpg. Gas pedal pressure is always firm for acceleration. Quik needs and it is a pedal pressure fight.

AM – After Microlon is world changing. 

• Engine – ultra smooth. In Park you do not know the engine is running. It is that smooth and quiet. Ditto that for all the stuff that lives with the engine. Touch the Gas lightly and our trusty steed just accelerates with no drag or hesitation. A bit more Gas and you’re passing the 60+mph range.  Acceleration is effortless. Even more interesting is the fact when traveling at any speed and you foot off the gas the speedo and tach just hang there a bit as they SLOWLY begin to descend. Uncanny to say the least. MPG is amazing.  For a 4,500 lb. vehicle we are now averaging 6 mpg city and 24.2 mpg highway.  To this day I still watch the fuel gauge in amazement.  We run only BP 87 octane pump gas. No additives. Just the gas. Our MKX is very happy with the BP diet.
• Transmission – is now VELVET. It shifts ultra-smooth and quik. No more lazy shifts. My mechanic wanted to know if we modified the PCM. We are not used to this transmission being so magnificent.
• PTU (for AWD) this unit burns up the (lifetime, never needs replacement synthetic 12 oz of oil) due to its location. Off the transmission and oh so close to the catalytic converter. It is noisy also. Treated with Microlon and a higher grade temperature synthetic oil and the unit is quiet and smooth operationally. 
• Rear End – I find no one ever changes the rear end oil. The forgotten child. We change ours every 80k miles. The Microlon treatment made a big difference. The slight noise is gone as is the slight whining of the rear gears.
• Cooling System – this really impressed us. The water pump must be happy as is the radiators. Our temp gauge runs a tick mark lower.  The engine compartment with the bonnet up is cooler.  In this engine the water pump is critical as it sits inside the engine. Antifreeze on the coolant side. Oil on the engine side.  Microlon treated, I am certain that the bearings and housing will last a long time.
• A/C – we reduced the temperature on Normal 72 º setting a not to be expected 4º drop in temperature. Also, there are no more A/C clunk noise when the compressor clutch engages.
• Power Steering – who does not have that annoying moaning sound in their power steering unit. Ours fluid is changed religiously, and we still hear a bit.  After treatment it is super quiet and a lot easier to turn the wheel. 
• Fuel System – initially treated without their instructions I cannot review at this time. I am waiting for the gas tank to reach ¼ full then I will re-treat the fuel system.  I’m told the pump, line, injectors and upper combustion chamber will be cleaned and treated. Cannot wait to experience the difference!

WRAP UP

This has been a wonderful journey with Microlon and the Team at Microlon Products. Never before have I been so thrilled with an automotive product that works as advertised.  No fake claims here. No let-downs after the hype. I guess that is why Microlon Products are so special to me. So many people write off Microlon as just another fluid additive which it is not.  A real honest to goodness ONE-TIME treatment. 

This product is all about cleaning and reducing major FRICTION in every part of the vehicle and resulting in a cooler running operation. 

Everything we did to our MKX made a profound improvement in overall efficiency. Had we just treated the engine, yes there would be a noticeable improvement. However, treating the entire vehicle’s systems, the total results are monumental as every moving parts are cleaned and friction reduced.  I am not an engineer however the amount of friction reduction we experienced was major.  Think of it. Parts without treatment will break down eventually due to friction wear which can become quite expensive as time goes on.  Treated and these parts will last more than a very long time. Cost of ownership is greatly reduced.  We feel the total Microlon investment far exceeds the repair costs without the treatment.

Our MKX is like another vehicle and a real pleasure to drive. It makes ownership now even more affordable with the insanity of higher fuel prices.
